Moore Concrete supplied Maccaferri MacRes panels to the A8 at Ballynure, Co. Antrim, to provide earth retaining solutions to support the various bridges crossing the main motorway.
Using the MacRes concrete panel based reinforced soil system we were able to supply with a bespoke blockwork face design to provide a cost-effective engineering solution to meet the clients aesthetic requirements. These panels were supplied to main contractor Lagan Ferrovial.
The main contract was to link Belfast (Northern Ireland’s capital city) with the port of Larne. It was worth £102 million with a 34 month completion date. Our panels were used in the 3.5 km. bypass around the town of Ballynure.
