Deputy Agri Sales Manager

Since its formation in 1978, Moore Concrete Products Ltd has developed into a world class, quality focused, precast concrete manufacturer based outside Ballymena. The company is customer focus led, ensuring the continued evolution of our extensive product range, designed to meet the requirements of civil infrastructure, agriculture and building customers across the UK and Ireland.

We are looking for a motivated and results-driven Deputy Agricultural Sales Manager with strong sales and leadership skills to support sales growth of our precast concrete products within the agricultural sector. This role involves developing relationships with key clients, identifying new business opportunities, and assisting in the overall management of the agricultural sales team. You will work closely with the Agri Sales Manager to drive sales strategies, ensure customer satisfaction, and contribute to the company’s continued success.

Hours of work: Standard hours will be Monday to Friday 8.00 – 5.00pm. 40 hours per week. Flexibility is required to work additional hours if needed. The role will be based in our main office in Ballymena however the successful candidate will be flexible to travel for business purposes as required, mostly GB & ROI.

 Key Duties include:

• Assist the Agri Sales Manager in achieving sales targets and expanding market share.
• Develop and maintain relationships with farmers, agricultural contractors, and distributors.
• Provide technical knowledge and product recommendations to customers.
• Identify new business opportunities and generate leads.
• Support pricing, quotations, and contract negotiations.
• Oversee order processing, delivery coordination, and after-sales support.
• Conduct market research to stay ahead of industry trends and competitor activity.
• Represent the company at trade shows, exhibitions, and industry events.
• Train and mentor sales team members.
• Deputise for the Sales Manager in their absence.

Person Specification & Essential Criteria :

• Proven experience in agricultural sales, construction, or a related industry.
• Previous management or leadership experience, even if gained in a different sector.
• Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills with farmers, contractors, and distributors.
• A commercial mindset with the ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
• A full, clean UK driving license and willingness to travel as required.

Desirable Criteria

• Experience in managing or leading a sales team within a related or different industry.
• A degree or diploma in Agriculture, Business, or a related field.
• Familiarity with CRM systems and sales reporting tools.
• Understanding of industry regulations and sustainability practices in agriculture.

A background in agriculture, business, or engineering is desirable but not essential. More importantly, we seek someone with the passion, drive, and expertise to grow Agri sales and lead a team effectively.
