Since its formation in 1978, Moore Concrete Products Ltd has developed into a world class, quality focused, precast concrete manufacturer based outside Ballymena. We are looking for a Civil Sales Manager to work efficiently and manage the Civil Sales team within Moore Concrete, striving to achieve the company’s vision statement and maximise sales opportunities to achieve sales and gross profit targets.

Key Duties include:

  • Drive sales performance and achieve revenue targets in the civil engineering and construction materials sector.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and key stakeholders within the civil engineering industry.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities, expanding the customer base and strengthening the company’s position in the market.
  • Work closely with internal teams and logistics to ensure customer satisfaction and seamless delivery of services.
  • Provide precise cost estimates for civil engineering and construction projects to support competitive and profitable tender submissions.
  • Lead the bid and tendering process to secure new projects, ensuring all submissions align with client requirements and company standards.
  • Work closely with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure clarity and efficiency in the estimating and bidding processes.
  • Support business development by identifying trends, opportunities, and strategies to enhance the company’s market position.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of civil engineering products, solutions, and services to effectively communicate benefits to clients.
  • Prepare and deliver accurate quotes, bids, and proposals in response to client inquiries and project requirements.
  • Lead contract negotiations and ensure favourable terms while maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Provide post-sale support to ensure client satisfaction and resolve any issues promptly.
  • Regularly report on sales performance, market insights, and forecasts to line Manager .
  • Lead, motivate, and train sales teams to achieve goals, ensuring alignment with the company’s vision.
  • Ensure all sales activities comply with industry regulations and company policies. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and reliable service
  • To participate in continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives.
  • Deputise as needed for the Head of Sales & Marketing
  • Any other duties, within reason and capability, as agreed through consultation with the Head of Sales & Marketing

 RESULTS KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs)

  • Enquiries recorded and are followed (£ quoted per month, no. of enquiries followed up).
  • Maximise sales opportunities to achieve sales targets (£ sales per month, no. of new accounts per mth).
  • Orders won at the best price to achieve/exceed the Gross Profit target (% margin expected).
  • Liaise with Planning, Quality/Technical, Despatch to achieve accurate delivery dates, ordering materials and accurate stock (£ work in hand per mth, % orders despatched on time).

 Person Specification & Essential Criteria :

  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of management experience, leading sales teams or similar.
  • Strong sales and estimating experience in the civil engineering/construction sector.
  • Ability to read drawings and bar schedules.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
  • Proven leadership and team management experience.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a busy team.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
